Thinking about joining a startup, investing in one, or looking for a partner? On February 7th, Tokyo Startup Arena, the most exciting startup meetup of the year will be held in Tokyo and hosted by two very involved community groups, Startup Lady Japan and Tokyo Tech Startups.

At the Arena, a group of early-stage startups will present in front of a panel of judges. These judges will include top entrepreneurs and representatives of VC firms from all over the world. This will give startups a great chance to get their product out there and have their voices heard. On top of that, after the main event, there will be a networking slot to meet anyone who is attending.

Startup Lady Japan

If you are a female looking for a space to meet with like-minded entrepreneurs in the tech industry in Japan, this group is the one for you. Startup Lady Japan is all about empowering women. Every month, they “host Women’s Entrepreneur Night or other special events.” Their purpose is “to foster community engagement and provide a space for goal driven women to connect and collaborate. Each of our events has a different theme, and different industry experts would come to our event to share their expertise with our community.” Of course, men are also welcome. If you are a male and would like to attend, Startup Lady Japan politely asks that you come accompanied by a female attendee.

Tokyo Tech Startups

This startup meeting group is also about empowering entrepreneurs and keeping the spirit of making something new. They host a very exciting monthly event called, “Tokyo Startup Pitch Night.” At this event, early-stage startups present their “product, service, or business ideas to get an opportunity for feedback, raise awareness, or seek talent and ask for help to grow their product.” Each Pitch Night has a wonderful group of unique startups and talent from a wide variety of industries. You’ll also find that this meetup will give you a great chance for networking and potentially finding a new career opportunity. Their events are held every 4th Thursday of the month. Their next event will be held on March 28, 2019.
