Slush Tokyo

When: February 22-23, 2019

Where: Tokyo Big Sight, 3 Chome-11-1, Ariake, Koto, Tokyo 135-0063

Slush is a world-renowned tech startup conference that is held in Helsinki, Shanghai, and Tokyo every year. It’s a professional event and somewhat pricey to enter but it is well worth the entrance fee. The Slush website boasts: “In 2018, over 3,100 startups, 1,800 investors, and 650 journalists from over 130 countries gathered to Slush”. The speakers, founders, and investors are all top notch. You can check out the lineup here. The doors open at 9 A.M and events start around 10 A.M. There are two stages, the dialogue stage, and the main stage. Also, don’t forget to visit the Slush Café.

At this link, you can check out the busy agenda for the two-day event. There will be a wide variety of startups, entrepreneurs, and investors attending, giving presentations, and hosting Q&As. Personally, we are looking forward to meeting Yukiko Muto, the president of Uber Eats, Japan.

Speaking of food, for anyone who will be in Tokyo to attend, let’s look over places to eat and things to do in the area! Look over Slush’s own list of hot spots.

Tokyo Big Sight TFT Hall

3 Chome-11-1 Ariake, Koto, Tokyo 135-0063

This will be your one stop shop for anything you might be looking for. They have restaurants, shops, and events all conveniently located in Tokyo Big Sight. They also have an English list of all the shops and restaurants.

Mega Web

1-3-12 Aomi, Koto 135-0064, Tokyo Prefecture

Mega Web is a Toyota car museum/theme park where you can look, touch, and even ride around in unique and interesting cars. There are attractions, racing simulators, and a movie theatre. If you are a car enthusiast, visiting here is a must.

Odaiba Seaside Park

Daiba, Minato 135-0091, Tokyo Prefecture

If you have never been to the surrounding Odaiba area, I highly recommend this park. It has a wonderful view of Rainbow Bridge and skyline of Tokyo. Also, there is a mini statue of liberty!

Gundam Statue Odaiba

1-1-10 Aomi, Diver City Tokyo Plaza, Koto 135-0064, Tokyo Prefecture

The Odaiba area is very well known for having a futuristic theme. One thing that stands out the most in the area is the huge moving robot (Gundam) statue! It’s recommended to visit this place, as well as the surrounding area, at night to see everything lit up.

Tokyo Trick Art Museum

1-6-1 Decks Tokyo Beach seaside Mall 4F, Daiba, Minato 135-0091, Tokyo Prefecture

Last but not least, the amazing trick art museum! If you love art and interesting museums, especially interactive ones, then you’ll have a great time here. The museum is full of 3D paintings and other types of trick art and optical illusions.
